We will call her “Anita”.
Not her real name of course.
“So tell us what the profile will be to identify predators. How does that work? Would that profile be…angry white men with fragile masculinity and an AR 15? Good. That was simple. Then tell us all about your plan for nationwide stop and frisk. Are you going to stop and frisk everyone or just those people with guns? Or are you going to narrow that down to angry white men with fragile masculinity and AR 15s? Then what? You arrest them all for being potential predators and angry white men before they potentially kill? How does it work? Because you haven’t really said.”
This is a snippet from a spirited discussion we at Cultures in Crisis recently had on Facebook.
The topic was the escalating street violence that is claiming so many lives of young people in communities across the Nation.
We can deduce from the tone of
“Anita’s” missive that she is of the hardcore liberal persuasion.
We can also deduce that “Anita” has a hard-on for “angry white men” to the exclusion of all other demographics.
Now what was “Anita” referring to.
“Anita” was taking issue with my proposed solution to the dramatically escalating carnage.
Carnage that is taking the lives of so many young Americans.
My solution was simple and twofold.
Number one, we develop profiles that allow police to identify and remove from society the predatory element BEFORE they kill.
Number two, we empower the police to randomly “Stop and Frisk”.
Stop and Frisk to identify and remove.from society those who fall through the cracks of Number One.
And let’s make one thing clear here.
“Profiling” and “Stop and Frisk” HAS been abused in past incarnations. There’s no question about that.
But that does NOT mean that has to be the case going forward.
Safeguards CAN be built into the programs to insure that ALL demographics are targeted equally.
Both of these programs have proven to be very successful at mitigating the carnage on our streets
But unfortunately, they are no longer in fashion.
Liberal politicians and liberal community leaders object. These individuals make the case, and with some justification, that both of these programs unfairly target members of the Black community.
Statistics prove those concerns have some validity.
But statistics don’t tell the whole story.
It is the Black community that is victimized to the greatest degree by the predators who are walking our streets with impunity.
And any programs designed to remove predators from the street would save a lot of lives. They would especially save the lives of many children in the Black community.
How did we answer “Anita”?
“We will never be able to put this gun Carnage to bed until we disarm the criminal element.
You (the liberal community) would fight tooth and nail any programs that have a realistic chance of accomplishing that
Most liberals would target white men exclusively with any gun control measures.
Unfortunately for the kids in my town, we’ve had a substantial number of children injured and killed by gunfire in their own communities the past two years
And the bloodshed by those children is the price we have to pay because our liberal politicians have a hard-on for angry white men with civilian assault weapons EXCLUSIVELY.
And they are at the same time unwilling to disarm the community predators who walk our streets with impunity.”
Sadly, we saw the truth of my words play out in our own community this past week.
“2 dead, 5 injured in shooting in Monroe Park after graduation, suspect in custody”
That was the headline that screamed from the web pages of WWBT 12 News, a television station operating out of Richmond Virginia.
It was the opening salvo in reportage on the tragic shooting that took the life of a young man and his father.
The young man had just graduated from Huguenot High School, a facility located in South Richmond.
Shawn Jackson (18) and his stepfather, Renzo Smith (36) were leaving the Altria Theater near the campus of Virginia Commonwealth University.
Shawn Jackson had just received his diploma when the young man and his stepfather ran into a wall of lead and gunsmoke.
They both died on the spot.

Reports of young black men gunned down on the streets of Richmond are not an unusual occurrence.
In fact, it happens so frequently that it barely makes the news.
In most cases the coverage is limited to a “geography” vo in one or two newscasts.
And a clickbait blurb on the Facebook pages that all of the news outlets maintain.
These homicides occur so frequently that there is rarely any follow-up.
And with the exception of WTVR CBS 6, most of the local Richmond news outlets don’t even bother sending a crew to the scene anymore. They limit their reportage to handouts from the well healed public relations department of the Richmond Police Force.
What is significant about these homicides, at least when it comes to this narrative, is a truth that many find uncomfortable.
The liberal gun control advocates universally maintain the “angry white men with their AR-15s“.represent the greatest threat when it comes to gun violence faced by the American public today.
The perpetrators in truth represent a CROSS section of demographics.
And in a substantial number of cases, the perps and thugs come from the same community as their victims.
In the case of Shawn Jackson for example, the shooter has been identified by police as 19 year old
Amari Ty-Jon Pollard. And police report that Pollard had known his victim for over a year.
Police say that both shooter and victim had a verbal altercation just minutes before they left the Altria theater and walked out into the sweet spring air of Monroe Park.
In short, the victim was targeted. He was targeted by not only a member of his own community but by an individual he knew well
In that this particular murder was not unique.
And in the interest of political correctness the news media and the police rarely share motives with the general public.
But reasonable people can reasonably deduce that the majority of homicides on the streets of Richmond are the result of gang warfare or are otherwise targeted. Reasonable people can deduce that more often than not the perps and the thugs and the victims all know each.
And reasonable people would also agree that the only way to mitigate this targeted carnage on the streets is the disarmament of the predators. The predators who nightly fill the air of Richmond with flying lead and gunsmoke.
You may have heard of Virginia Senator Tim Kaine.
He was Hillary Clinton’s running mate in 2016.
Senator Tim Kaine would have been our Vice President had not Hillary Clinton orchestrated the most incompetent presidential campaign of the modern era.
Senator Tim Kaine is a competent politician.
He did a good job as Mayor of the City of Richmond.
He did a good job as Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
And, overall, he does a good job as the Junior Senator from the Commonwealth of Virginia.
But Senator Tim Kane has a blind spot when it comes to gun control.
The irony is that some observers would say it was that blind spot that in part facilitated this murder that took the life of a local high school student on his day of greatest Glory.
Today the Senator is a member of the liberal chorus aiming their gun control proposals at “angry white men with their AR-15s”.
Little is said about disarming the other NEIGHBORHOOD street criminals who are ALSO responsible for the carnage across our nation.
But there was a time when Tim Kaine believed in taking a hard line towards street criminals.
Tim Kaine was Mayor of Richmond back when Project Exile was proving to be so extraordinarily successful.
Project Exile reduced the homicide rate in Richmond by 40%.
But then Tim Kane was nominated to be Hillary Clinton’s running mate in 2016.
He was forced to abandon the hard line in order to protect the Black vote for Hillary
Those was great resistance in the Black community from influential leaders like local Congressman Bobby Scott and many others to the selection of Tim Kaine.
This resistance was based upon his support of Project Exile.
It was claimed at the time, and not without some evidence, that the only people affected by Project Exile, the only criminals actually “exiled” by Project Exile, were members of the Black community.
Local Congressman Bobby Scott was especially critical of Project Exile.
So now, 7 years later, we have an explosion of young people gunned down on the streets of Richmond Virginia
They are dying because the police have neither the means nor the community support necessary to disarm the predators that walk among them.
Yes, we can all agree that the “angry white man with his AR-15” IS a major threat on American soil
We can all agree that the AWM SHOULD be disarmed.
BUt, it was NOT an “angry white man” who viciously gunned down this young man and his father in Monroe Park just minutes after graduating high school.
And it is not the “angry white men” who are routinely gunning down the young people of Central Virginia on a weekly basis.
We will never mitigate the carnage on the streets until liberal politicians and influencers are willing to go beyond mere “feel good” legislation targeting one demographic while giving a pass to others.
Until the liberal community actually starts supporting programs that address the real problem as it exists today the Carnage will continue and children will continue to die.
but sadly, is things stand now, it does not appear that the liberal Community has any intention of stepping up to the plate and support of programs that would save the lives of so many of our children.
